FAQ
Home Solar Questions
How many solar panels does my house need?
A typical 3–4 bedroom BC home uses a 7–12 kW system, which is roughly 14–30 panels. Smaller homes and condos often need 3–6 kW, or about 6–14 panels. We size your system from your actual BC Hydro usage.
How much does residential solar cost in BC?
Before rebates, small home systems usually cost $7K–$15K and standard family-home systems $15K–$25K. Quotes include equipment, labour, permits and the BC Hydro application. See our pricing page for details.
Is my roof suitable for solar?
Most roofs with good sun exposure and a few decades of life left work well. During your free assessment we check orientation, shading, roof condition and your electrical panel, and tell you honestly if solar isn't a good fit.
Do I need a battery with home solar?
No. Most homes connect to the BC Hydro grid without a battery. A battery is worth considering if you want backup power during outages or want to use more of your own solar power in the evening.
What warranties come with a home solar system?
Premium panels carry 25-year manufacturer performance warranties, inverters typically 10–25 years, and AuraVolt provides a 10-year workmanship warranty on every installation.
